Maison
Internationale des Littératures Passa Porta
The Conseil des arts
et des lettres du Québec wishes to actively foster cultural relations
between Québec and French-speaking Belgium and to promote the
development of the international careers of writers by encouraging
foreign exchange programs. To this end, in 2004, it concluded with the
Direction générale de la Culture in the Ministère de la Communauté
française de Belgique a reciprocity agreement covering periods of
residence for writers.
Belgium is an
important hub for cultural exchanges in Europe.
The Conseil
hopes that the establishment of this partnership will stimulate the
longstanding fruitful ties between the Québec and Belgian literary
communities.
The agreement
enables
writers and storytellers to undertake each year a two-month
period of residence in Québec and Belgium and take advantage of
numerous opportunities for professional contacts in Montréal and
Brussels.
Artistic fields
Literature and storytelling
Target applicants
Writers and storytellers with at least two years of artistic practice.
