Québec - Manitoba artist-in-residence program
(Manitoba, Canada)

The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) wishes to participate in concrete terms in the initiative launched by the Québec government to develop lasting artistic and cultural exchanges between Québec and the other Canadian provinces. In 2006, it concluded reciprocity agreements with the Ontario Arts Council and the New Brunswick Arts Council.

In 2011, CALQ is further developing the reciprocity agreements with the Manitoba Arts Council by establishing an annual exchange program for professional artists and writers that enables the applicants selected to engage in creative residencies and periods of artistic renewal in Québec and Manitoba. The artists participating in this program enjoy complete autonomy and define the objectives of their stay and elaborate the parameters and conditions for its realization.

Through this agreement, CALQ wishes to offer Québec artists a new career development tool and initiate fruitful collaboration with its Manitoba counterpart.
