The Méduse cooperative, a unique complex in the heart of Québec
City.
Purpose
of the studio
Under exchange programs with Finland, Brazil and Wales, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec makes
available a studio in the Coopérative
de producteurs et de diffuseurs artistiques, culturels et
communautaires Méduse, which assembles in a single building
many organizations active in the cultural and community life of Québec
City.
Location
The
Coopérative de producteurs et de diffuseurs artistiques, culturels
et communautaires Méduse is located between the Côte d'Abraham and
rue Saint-Vallier, straddling the Haute-Ville and the Basse-Ville in
Québec City.
Dimensions
and layout
Located
on the top floor of the building, the studio-apartment offers 70 m2
of living space and is equipped with a kitchenette. It affords a
magnificent view of Québec City, the area north of the city and the
Laurentian foothills.
Specialized
equipment
The
Méduse cooperative houses various studios (woodworking, stone and
metal, engraving, and multipurpose), a photography laboratory,
exhibition rooms, a rehearsal studio, a photography studio, sound
studios, and film, video and radio studios. Moreover, it offers
space reserved for archiving and equipment storage, office space for
each organization, a computer server for the internal communication
network and access to the Web, an interconnection room and a café-bistro.
