Place d'Armes, in Old Montréal
This
residence program, established in 1992, is reserved solely for Québec
artists and writers who do not live in Montréal and wish to engage in a
lengthy stay there.
It is
intended to allow grant recipients to take advantage of Montréal's very
dynamic cultural life, which, year round, features major exhibitions,
festivals and an array of other cultural events. The period of residence
is the ideal time to create but also to make professional contacts
related to the dissemination of the artist's work.
Artistic fields
Architectural research,
arts and crafts, circus arts, dance, literature, media arts,
multidisciplinary arts, music, popular song, theatre, visual arts
Target applicants
Artists and writers with at least two years of artistic practice who reside outside the Montréal area.
Location
The studio-apartment has an area of roughly 52 m2 and is located in Old
Montréal close to the place d'Armes. It is fully furnished (including
washer, dryer and dishwasher) but does not offer any specialized equipment.
Length of
stay and amount of the grant
Six months, from January to June 2013 or from July to December 2013.
