The building in which the studio is located, in Soho
Located
in SoHo, the heart of New York artistic life, the Québec studio in New
York has welcomed 40 or so Québec artists in all disciplines since
1981. The studio offers artists wishing to engage in refresher stints a
unique opportunity to take advantage of the vitality and resources of a
broad range of artistic milieus. Many if not most outstanding trends in
contemporary artistic creation are found in New York.
Most of
the Québec artists and writers who have made use of the studio
acknowledge that they have experienced there a significant portion of
their career development. The new living environment and contact with
other artists spawn conditions favourable to creativity and the
development of an artistic approach, indeed, to the broadening of an
artist's international influence.
