The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) is proud to be associated with the Prix de la danse de Montréal in order to award each year to a Québec choreographer the Prix du CALQ pour la meilleure oeuvre chorégraphique (CALQ prize Best choreographic work of the 2015-2016 artistic season). This prize, accompanied by a cash award of $10 000, will highlight the artistic excellence of a work presented in Québec for the first time during the previous artistic season.
The Prix du CALQ pour la meilleure oeuvre chorégraphique seeks to:
- highlight the excellence of creation in the realm of dance in Québec;
- promote the recognition of Québec professional choreographers;
- offer tangible support for their careers;
- heighten public awareness of the choreography for which the prize was awarded.
