Insignia
The design of the honorary insignia was the subject of a call for projects in December 2014, addressed to recognized professionals working in fine crafts. The insignia was to be in the form of a lapel badge, composed of materials from Quebec. The project of Christine Dwane was ultimately selected. Simple and original, the insignia features a small cluster of blue aluminum cubes, to be worn on the lapel or as a broach.
Jewellery designer, goldsmith and gemmologist Christine Dwane studied jewellery making in Montreal before apprenticing with the Swiss-German goldsmith Robert Ackermann. A graduate of the Gemmologists Association of Great Britain, she currently teaches at the École de joaillerie de Montréal and the École de gemmologie de Montréal. Her one-of-a-kind pieces are forged and hand-assembled in precious metals (gold, silver, titanium and platinum). For ecological reasons, she offers all her work in totally recycled materials.
