Québec does not need dams to harness the energy of Jocelyn Robert. This incredibly versatile Renaissance man leaps from discipline to discipline, avoiding any attempt to label him. Researcher, performer, writer, teacher, and designer, he has spent 30 years exploring and revolutionizing the visual, media, sound, and computer arts.

Enthralled with the idea of connection and collaboration, Jocelyn Robert likes to make links between materials, contexts, institutions, artists, people, and technology. This is why he created and managed Avatar, and participated in the founding of Méduse, experimental creation and borderless dissemination laboratories where people fueled by innovation intersect.

A man who enjoys changing his mind, he has been deemed a “professional disrupter” and likes injecting absurd humour and poetry into his process. Over 30 records, 80 exhibitions, and 60 performances and concerts staged by over 40 presenters in close to 120 institutions and a dozen awards attest to his remarkable career in Québec and around the world.
